Because Monroe Doesn't Have an Investigative Newspaper...
There's a lot happening in the Town of Monroe, and none of it is pretty.
I’m sitting here, waiting to get the finished audio for this week’s episode of Stupid Sexy Privacy. Otherwise you wouldn’t be getting a post today. Hopefully we’ll get that straightened out. And if you’re not listening to the show, what are you even doing reading this?
Here’s what you missed last week: a discussion between yours truly and the author of Thomas Paine and the Promise of America, Dr. Harvey J. Kaye. Not enough people know about our lost Founding Father, but Tom Paine is a name you’re going to want to know, and whose Common Sense you’re going to want to read. It’s going to become way more important than you think right now in the years ahead. I can promise you that.
Go listen to our interview here.
If you’re not able to subscribe, or have already become a paid subscriber and want to help the cause, sharing Stupid Sexy Privacy episodes is a way you can do that.
The Situation at the Town of Monroe Is Worse Than You Think
This is just a brief post today.
You can watch Supervisor Maureen Richardson try to dig herself out of a hole in the video below, and the picture above should give you a hint of just how big that hole is.
If you’re wondering what triggered this above video rant, you can watch:
And this
Now, to be fair, if I had to listen to this parade of idiots (below) I’d be upset too:
-Mike Egan was part of United Monroe, which helped create the Town of Palm Tree. He’s the last remaining vestige of United Monroe now that Tony Cardone is out doing whatever it is evil, old boomers do.
-Dan Scully, who apparently is not a fan of The Monroe Gazette (LOL). But then again, neither is our town supervisor, apparently, based on her comments, which we quoted in today’s headline.
-Abraham Flohr, one of two men responsible for installing a puppet government in the Village of Monroe. (Flohr may or may not be the mystery man disrupting the village election.)
-Carol Hawxhurst, who previously lied on behalf of the former town supervisor at multiple town meetings.
None of these people should ever again be allowed to wield power or be anywhere near it. They speak for nobody but themselves.
But.
They’re also not wrong about the Jewish Liaison thing, which we discussed yesterday.
You can watch the full meeting, below, for yourself:
Here’s what I will say for now: I’ve been aware of the issues in Monroe for about a month.
But I was finishing my book, so I couldn’t get to it sooner. The Monroe Gazette does not pay the bills — something of increasing concern because the New York state budget just passed. If you’re one of 1.2 million New Yorkers who may lose your health insurance coverage starting in July, there is no help coming.
And Democrats wonder why people vote for Trump and others like him. This is why. You have a Democratic trifecta in New York state, and one of the big achievements of the late budget was a major win for Uber and a huge loss for the environment.
But don’t worry everyone, our adulterous “populist” State Senator is going to send you an email this week about all the great things in this budget. And also how he’s “real mad” and “fought hard” but “didn’t get everything we wanted.” (Take a drink if he uses any of those actual words.)
So. At this point, I think it’s fair to say the Democratic Party of New York State is rotten to its core. All the way down to the local level. The problem is, the Republican Party has been hijacked by a fascist cult of White Supremacists. So it’s not like you're getting an alternative from them. You’re not. One is evil. The other is just corrupt.
And we really need to do something about both of them.
WHAT that thing is, we’re going to figure out together.
