How 'Antisemitism' Became a Shield for Corruption
A quick look at the Kiryas Skvere project, its echoes of the white collar crime spree in South Blooming Grove, and what you can do about it.

Eachus remained loose long enough to pose for photos at the new Woodbury Common Haribo store that opened this week.
To date, Assemblyman Chris Eachus has not publicly addressed allegations of irregularities in the Orange County legislative race within his own district, where Republican Mike Essig defeated Democrat Stephanie Powell in an election where non-existent people factually voted.
Assemblyman Chris Eachus has not spoken up about how one of his constituents, Monroe resident, Javier Dam, went to State Senator Skoufis for assistance with an illegally operating helipad next door to him, which State Senator Skoufis did nothing about. Then, adding insult to injury, Skoufis took $5,000 from the man who owns the helipad. The fact that Skoufis’s Republican opponent isn’t running around shouting about this story speaks to the incompetence of the local Republican party.
Chris Eachus has also not spoken out about how Woodbury Common is home to four FLOCK security cameras, which are a critical weapon in the arsenal of our fascist dictatorship.
These cameras are weapons used to deprive all residents of the United States the equal protection of the law that’s granted to them by our Constitution’s 14th Amendment.
“No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”
Note the wording.
John Bingham, who led the development of the 14th Amendment, was an attorney and judge. Wording mattered to him, and the choice of “any person” is an intentional one. If you reside in the United States, or even if you’re just visiting, the 14th Amendment guarantees that the protections granted by our Constitution extend to you.
Where’s Mr. Eachus on that one?
Oh. One more thing on this:
Do you think anyone told Chris Eachus that Haribo was once accused of making their gummy bears using ingredients made from slave labor?
Probably not, given this guy is Eachus’ Chief of Staff.
Chris Eachus doesn’t work for you. He works for the wealthy.
Meanwhile, in Sullivan County…

The event primarily served as an opportunity for community leaders and residents to express their appreciation to Governor Hochul for her assistance in securing the necessary approvals and helping make the affordable housing development a reality.
Just a note on the affordable housing claim: It’s likely a flat-out lie. Just like with Clovewood. Of the South Blooming Grove mega development’s ~ 1,100 units only ~94 are marked for designated affordable housing. I don’t have the exact numbers in front of me as I write this, but that is the ratio.
That means virtually no affordable housing units for a development project championed by Joel Stern, and presented to Kathy Hochul and other government officials and agencies like the DEC, as providing “affordable housing.”
Also worth noting: there’s the uncomfortable discussion that this “affordable housing” isn’t being built and offered to everyone as the law requires. This is galling in a time of a nationwide affordable housing crisis. And for me, as someone who believes in the Bosh line that either everyone counts or nobody counts, a clear sign that New York State’s Democrats have decided nobody counts. Do whatever you want.
Everyone is entitled to an affordable home. Not just Zalman Teitelbaum’s followers in South Blooming Grove, Aaron’s followers in Woodbury, and the Skver in Kiryas Skvere.
Yet New York State Attorney General Letitia James’ office can’t be bothered to look into housing discrimination in South Blooming Grove and Monroe to residents who aren’t Satmar.
She only seems to be concerned when the Satmar real estate developers aren’t getting what they want. That’s why we’ve said: Nobody Counts in South Blooming Grove.
It would appear, nobody counts in the Town of Bethel either.
So, Why No Photo?
Despite meticulously documenting Governor Kathy Hochul’s adventures every day on Flickr, a social media website that people stopped using in like, 2015, there are no photos of her recent visit to the site of Kiryas Skvere.
Aka: the Swan in Swan Lake development in the Town of Bethel.
There are also no photos or information about her visit in the Governor’s online Press Room.
Had the Haredi Press not covered her visit, I doubt anyone down here in Orange County would have known about it.
Given that the Governor has sent emissaries to Woodbury to advocate on behalf of the Village of Kiryas Joel with the ACE Farm annexation — that’s since been withdrawn, but will return — any time the governor gets involved with the Haredi I’m interested.

Hochul’s office stalled our FOIL on that Woodbury visit for over a year before refusing to release the records on interagency grounds; however, multiple Woodbury elected officials confirmed it happened. More than once.
Now, I’m not saying the lack of photos and videos is intentional.
But this is the same Kathy Hochul who also won’t comment on verifiable election fraud happening in South Blooming Grove, while the dipshit dumbass in chief runs around claiming there’s election fraud in Blue States.
Why would you even allow Trump an opportunity to be right, Kathy? What the fuck.
Trump, for his part, won’t reply to requests for comment concerning evidence of election fraud in South Blooming Grove. The White House has replied to other requests for comment from The Monroe Gazette, but not on matters related to SBG. Neither will House Speaker Mike Johnson. So don’t go thinking it’s just the Democrats who suck. It’s all of them. They work for the rich. Not you.
And the ones who tell you that they work for you, like Trump? He personally cost you, yes, you reading this right now, $1,700 last year.
Biden didn’t do that. He did.
Now, I’m telling you about Kiryas Skvere for a reason, and that reason is:
1.It’s an order of magnitude larger than Clovewood. This is essentially dropping a city on rural infrastructure not built to support it, regardless of the environmental consequences during a fucking climate emergency. Everyone is entitled to affordable housing. There is a better way to do that than allowing a tiny group of wealthy assholes see who can build a city the fastest.
2. The story to Kiryas Skvere should also sound familiar to residents of Monroe and South Blooming Grove: Corrupt Town Supervisor and Building Inspectors, plans being submitted for one development, only for it to keep growing and growing, bogus water usage data, election fraud that you have factual evidence of, and yet there is absolutely no movement on the part of any New York State — or federal agency for that matter — to look into these issues. And when people do bring up the issues, even if they are my fellow Jews, they’re called antisemitic and told to shut up and go away.
Kiryas Skvere is proof that you’re not antisemitic, crazy, or bigoted to raise your hand and say, “Hold up. Wait a minute. I have questions.”
Questions like: if you know there’s election fraud happening, and you know the people doing it, why aren’t you doing anything about it during a time when the president is running around trying to convince people there’s no voter fraud?
And questions like: Now that Americans are seeing it’s not antisemitic to have problems with Israel’s genocide in Gaza, and that it’s OK to pointedly question Israel’s decision making when it helps get us into wars where 18 soldiers are dead, how much longer are we going to let the “It’s antisemitism!” card work when there’s clearly evidence of criminal wrongdoing?
Something’s got to give here.
And that something is our democracy.
If you still think this is about religion you’re a chump. Anyone talking about religion, or cultural differences is a chump looking to distract you.
Religion’s got nothing to do with this. If it did, Dina d'malkhuta dina. (The law of the land is the law, according to the Talmud.)
All of this, across Sullivan, Rockland, and Orange is a story about a very wealthy group of real estate developers, some who happen to be Haredi.
The fact that the real estate developer is Haredi has nothing to do with what’s happening. If you have a problem with what’s happening because these people are Haredi, fuck you. I don’t want to be associated with you.
This is about wealthy assholes getting to do whatever they want and your elected officials repeatedly demonstrating that they don’t work for you. They work for the rich. And in this case, those rich people are making our climate emergency worse through poor planning and greed.
